Анотація
У статті розглянуто й проаналізовано проблему дефіциту кваліфікованих кадрів у публічних бібліотеках в умовах становлення електронного урядування в Україні, висвітлено професійні цінності й вимоги до сучасного бібліотекаря. Увагу акцентовано на тому, що професійна підготовка бібліотечного фахівця в сучасному інформатизованому суспільстві є безперервним, цілісним і багатоаспектним процесом, що передбачає розвиток і вдосконалення здібностей, оволодіння необхідними знаннями, технологіями та функціями бібліотечного менеджменту. На основі спостережень запропоновано нові підходи у сфері вдосконалення механізмів підготовки бібліотечних фахівців.
